About Mr. Capistrant

I am a native resident of Carson City, NV. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nevada, Reno majoring in Information Systems. I am currently pursuing my MBA in International Business. I am a web developer by trade and enjoy it quite a bit. I specialize in ASP/SQL/E-Commerce. I have been dabbling in Flash recently. I work for a local company as their lead web and application developer. In addition to web development I develop applications in VB.NET as well as X++ (a proprietary ERP language similar to C++). I am also a part time instructor at Western Nevada College, teaching VB.NET, MS Office and Computer Literacy.

Outside of work and side work (read, more web development), I am an avid runner. As of December 2007 I have completed 3 marathons, all within this year. I have hopes of qualifing for the Boston Marathon in the next few years. I also love half marathons, they're easy to train for, are long enough to be challenging and are widely organized. My absolute favorite run is the Escape from Prison Hill Half Marathon which occurs every year here in Carson City. It's full of awesome hills and is very challenging. This year (2008) my goal is to break 2:00 (btw, 1/2M PR is 1:44 - Bizz Johnson).

I am also a travel junkie. In 2006 I backpacked Europe for 7 weeks solo from Greece to Scotland. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. October of 2007, I travelled though part of Latin America (Yucatan, Belize, Guatemala - well almost). My goal is to take one international trip per year. I also retreat yearly to the Black Rock Desert for the Burning Man festival. It too is an amazing experience that cannot be described with words. I will just say that it is as close to a eutopian society as I could possibly imagine.
